Job Summary

NVICO seeks to hire Intern (1-3 positions) who will assist the sustainable virtual team in carrying out research in energy, including but not limited to carrying out techno design analysis. In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined below, the Intern should be prepared, as and when necessary, to take on additional responsibilities. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop new user facing features using Core Java, JSP and Servlets

  • Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use

  • Maintain existing codebase

  • Translate design and wireframes into high quality code

  • Optimizing components for maximum performance across a vast array of web capable devices and browsers

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies

NVICO operates in a dynamic environment,

and the candidate will be required to show flexibility in undertaking a variety of tasks.

Shortlisting Criteria

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a specialization in Software / Computer Science / Information Technology or related field

  • Candidates with prior technical know-how of Software / Computer Science / Information Technology is desirable

  • A fair interest in the creative industries / economy

 

Key Skills

  • Ability to understand product requirements and translate them into technical requirements

  • Strong skills in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and Javascript object model

  • Knowledge carrying out code development in Web Apps and etc

  • Familiarity with Spring, Apache Sling, Java Content Repositories

  • Familiarity with common development tools such as MySQL, MongoDB

  • Manage and oversee all technical aspects of code development

  • Willingness to work on multi-disciplinary code languages

  • Basic knowledge on version control systems like GitHub, Bitbucket

  • Good written and oral communication skills 

  • Having a certification in Java is a plus

Personality

  • Willingness to learn new (research and project management) skills

  • Ability to adapt to a new environment and deliver under tight deadlines in a professional environment

  • Striving for rigour in research and quality in work output

  • Ability to effectively work in a team while driving research with minimum assistance, when time demands independently.

  • Ability to dig deeper into details, while also keeping a sense of the broader objectives and big picture

  • Willingness to learn, grow and develop at personal and professional front, at a rapid pace with a steep learning curve

  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment
